Xiaomi is a well-established name, especially in the Asian and European wearable markets, and models like the Mi Band 6 impress us with incredibly low prices and a solid feature set. We’ve heard rumors about the Mi Band 7 Pro since at least May, but more recently last week there was a teaser detailing its impending arrival. Xiaomi has announced the latest wearables on time, alongside the new Xiaomi 12S Ultra with the popular Leica camera.

The Mi Band 7 Pro is somewhat similar to the Redmi Smart Band Pro, but with a 1.64 inch always-on AMOLED screen (326 PPI) larger than the 1.47 inch display. There’s also a premium metal body here, and the combination of it and the big screen looks almost like a full-featured smartwatch.

As expected, the new wearable shares some of its features with the smaller Mi Band 7, including the ability to monitor / track blood oxygen, sleep, heart rate, etc. (via XDA). According to Xiaomi, the Mi Band 7 Pro offers over 180 watch faces right out of the box, allowing you to track a whopping 117 sport modes that cover outdoor and indoor activities. As rumored, it has a built-in GPS and is water resistant to 5 ATMs, so it can withstand swimming as long as it doesn’t go deeper than 50 meters in the water.

The Mi Band 7 Pro reportedly lasts up to 12 days on a single charge, thanks to a 235mAh battery. NFC support is also included, and if supported, contactless payments are possible. Features such as camera control, smart notifications, and lost phone detection complete the wearable feature set.

Based on last week’s leak, I’ve already seen the Mi Band 7 Pro in two colorways. Graphite / black and rose gold / white. We are also currently using six silicone straps in colors such as Vitality Orange, Resting White, Joylive Pink, Meditation Green, Night Leap Black and Stretch Blue. According to the Android Authority, each of these replacement straps will sell for 39 CNY, or just under $ 6, and Xiaomi will also offer a limited edition band of Monet Gray and Van Gogh Green for 59 CNY (~ $ 9) each.

The Mi Band 7 Pro was officially launched in China today. The price is only 399 CNY (about $ 60). Given the combination of hardware like smartwatches and affordability, Mi Band 7 Pro has the potential to enter the profitable fitness tracker market. Xiaomi hasn’t provided specific details on global availability or pricing yet, but we hope the information will continue soon.
